Mastercard Day discount event in Škoda cars attracted thousands of drivers



Mastercard organized a discount event called Mastercard Day in Slovakia and promoted it through Škoda’s in-car app called Offers and the MyŠkoda mobile app.
Challenge: Make Mastercard Day more visible in Slovakia and effectively engage cardholders.
Solution: Connect the discount campaign with the Škoda ecosystem: the Offers app in infotainment systems and the MyŠkoda mobile app.
Impact: 23% of active Offers app users in Slovakia viewed the deals (≈ 10% of all drivers with access to the service). Within a single day, thousands of vouchers were redeemed at 14 partners, 11 of which were promoted directly in vehicles.
What it led to: We identified the most attractive categories for drivers and initiated longer-term partnerships beyond Slovakia.
Mastercard organized a special discount event, Mastercard Day, for its clients in Slovakia in cooperation with selected partners, including Notino, Slovnaft, Burger King, and others.
To promote the event, Mastercard leveraged its partnership with Škoda Auto via the “Offers” app, available in the infotainment systems of Škoda vehicles and the MyŠkoda mobile app. These services are available in over 25,000 vehicles in Slovakia.
The infotainment app works like a digital coupon book, where drivers can discover offers and tips not only from Škoda Auto but also from external partners. Users can send discount vouchers to their email or navigate directly to a partner location. For electric vehicle owners, the nearest charger near the selected location is also shown. The same content is available in the MyŠkoda app, where partners with active offers are highlighted on the map.
“This short-term event gave us insight into which offers our drivers find most appealing. We've managed to establish long-term collaborations with some partners, even beyond Slovakia, so more drivers will be able to enjoy the benefits we’re bringing them,”

Results
Reach: 23% of active users in Slovakia viewed the offers (≈ 10% of all drivers with access).
Conversion: Thousands of vouchers were redeemed in a single day.
Engagement: 14 partners involved, 11 of them supported directly in-car.
Škoda Auto and Mastercard also collaborate on other projects, such as Pay to Fuel, which enable drivers to pay for fuel directly from the car’s infotainment system. Thanks to Mastercard, drivers can also be rewarded for these payments during promotional events.
